Beer buffs get your judging hats on, as on Wednesday 9th October our marvellous Maida Vale pub The Elgin will present The Big Battle of the Little Breweries’ - with two of the best local breweries in London going head-to-hop.
The Main Event…
Kicking off at 7pm in The Elgin’s fine first-floor auditorium, ale-enthusiasts will have the chance to check out both contenders pound for pound. The jabs, hooks and hops will come thick and fast – with a combination of beer-based chat from head brewers and, of course, plenty of dark-beered beauties to sip and score.
Introducing The Malt Masters…
Fighter number one is the mighty Moncada Brewery – hoping to go the distance with their seven-strong-range of exceptional ales including Moncada Blonde, Moncada Summer and Moncada Ruby Rye.
In the opposite corner the potent Portobello Brewing Co. packing a serious punch with four ferociously good beers including Portobello Star, Portobello Market Porter and Portobello Pale.
Beyond The Battle
Proving the old adage ‘Make Beer Not War’ – the evening won’t be all about ale fights. Peckish punters can sample a selection of homemade mini pies with fillings made from the featured beers, purchase a bottle or two to take home, or win the chance to BYOB (brew your own brew) to be sold at The Elgin in the end-of-night tombola.
Tickets for the event cost £10 including entry into the tombola click here
